Why Cats Have Nine Lives

Never had a chance to tell you the story of the wild cat. But here it is. One day in the summer I came across a child who had a wild cat that needed emergency medical assistance, or so he claimed. This child knew nothing about cats. His owner had been feeding him dry martinis for breakfast and beer chasers for lunch. Of course a cat cannot survive on such fare. I told the child that all children should know that while a cat may have nine lives, it needs a little help from its friends.
